Business Coaching for Leaders

Most business problems are thinking problems. The strategy isn't wrong, the framing is. The decision isn't hard, the question is. Good coaching fixes the upstream problem so the downstream problems stop repeating. I think that's the most important thing people miss about what coaching actually does.

What Business Coaching Is, and What It Isn't

Business coaching means different things to different people. I want to be clear about what it means with me.

It's not accountability check-ins. It's not goal-setting sessions. It's not someone asking “how did that make you feel?”

It is sharp, structured thinking time with someone who has built businesses, coached leaders, and isn't afraid to tell you what they see. We work on the real problems. The ones you know are there but haven't had the right thinking partner to work through.

The output? Clarity. Better decisions. Momentum that compounds.

Who I Work With

Coaching works best when the person on the other side is already capable. You know there's another level available, right? That's usually when people find me.

The leaders I work with typically share a few things:

  • They're running a business or leading a team, and they're good at it. They want to be sharper.
  • They're facing a decision, transition, or challenge that deserves more than gut instinct
  • They want a thinking partner who brings genuine perspective, not just process
  • They're willing to look honestly at what's working and what isn't

Industries I work with regularly: professional services, construction, industrial businesses, and technology. But horses for courses. If there's a fit, there's a fit.

What We Work On

Every engagement is built around what your business actually needs. Common focus areas include:

  • Strategic clarity. Getting precise about where you're going, why, and what that means for every decision you make today.
  • Winning strategies. Building the commercial logic that compounds: pricing, positioning, client acquisition, retention.
  • AI implementation. Most business owners know AI matters. Very few have a clear plan for where it fits. I help you build one. If AI is your primary focus, see AI Consulting.
  • Leadership and decision-making. Tightening how you think, how you decide, and how you lead the people around you.
  • Business model clarity. Making sure the way you make money is actually working the way you think it is. This one catches people off guard more often than you'd expect.

How It Works

First conversation

We start with a no-pressure conversation. I want to understand your business, what you're working on, and whether coaching is the right fit. Sometimes it isn't. I'll tell you.

6-month engagement

Most coaching runs in 6-month cycles. We meet regularly, weekly or fortnightly depending on pace and need. Between sessions, I'm available for questions, reviews, and real-time thinking support.

What the six months produces

By the end of the first cycle you'll have a clearer strategic picture, momentum on your highest-leverage problems, better decisions made faster, and a clear view of what comes next. The compounding effect is phenomenal.

The Thinking Behind the Work

I think most leaders are more capable than their current results show. The gap is usually clarity, or the absence of someone who asks the right questions at the right time.

My approach draws on pattern recognition across businesses, industries, and problems. I bring a point of view, not just a process. I'll tell you what I see, including the things that are easy to miss when you're inside the business every day.

The philosophy that shapes how I work: Own your intelligence

Based in Perth, Working Across the Globe

I'm based in Perth, Western Australia, but I've worked with clients all over the world. Most sessions run remotely via video call, with in-person sessions available for Perth-based clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between business coaching and consulting?

A consultant is a doer, alongside you executing. A coach works with you to sharpen how you think, decide, and lead so you get better outcomes across every decision. My coaching draws on both. I bring strategic frameworks and real business experience, not just facilitation.

Who is coaching for?

Business owners, founders, and senior leaders who are capable and driven but want a thinking partner who pushes back, spots what they're missing, and helps them move faster. If you're looking for accountability check-ins or generic goal-setting, I'm probably not the right fit.

How long does coaching run?

Most engagements start with a 6-month cycle. Many clients continue beyond that. The first six months focuses on strategic clarity and building momentum on the highest-leverage problems.

Do you coach in person or remotely?

Both. Perth-based clients can choose in-person or remote. I've worked with clients all over the world, most remotely via video call.

Do you also help with AI?

Yes. 100%. AI is a significant part of how I work with clients, whether that's integrating AI into their business, understanding what to automate, or building an AI strategy. If AI is your primary focus, AI Consulting may be a better starting point.

How do I know if coaching is right for me?

I would massively challenge you to take the two-minute quiz. It routes you to the right service based on where your business is right now.
